Emily is shredding the snow in Colorado USA, mostly she rides Breckenridge, Keystone or Copper mountain.
Emily about her first comp in Colorado this season:
Hey Guys!
Last week I competed in the first USASA Competition of the 2011/2012 US season. I competed in the division called ‘Breaker’ which is ages 12-13 years of age. This division is a very competitive group for the boys, but not so much for the girls. I was Super excited for this comp! It was a perfect day for the competition! The Pipe was perfect and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. In this competition i came in 1st place! I was very happy with this result as I had only arrived in the USA 2 weeks ago.
Here are some photos from the USASA Comp:

Its summertime for most of the Monkie Teamriders. The winterseason is over. Its time to ask them what they do in summertime.
John Olav from Norway tells us what he think about the summerseason.
The summer season is fun (as long as I get to do summer skiing ) hehe. But it is a great oportunity to work and get money for the winter season.
Most people love the summer because the weather and the beach. John Olav are you stoked the summer is here?
Im pretty stoked on the warm weather, because then I can skate, go cliff diving and do other summer sports. And its super fun to go to the glaciers in the summer.
This last winter season was your first season studying besides skiing. How did that go?
It was better than expected. I had alot of free time from my school and the ski resort was only 10 minutes away, so it was easy to skiing. But I wish I could ski every day, but I have to grow up and get an education
What is your best memorie from the winter season?
The best memory was my first handrail. I was super stoked to finaly get to do a urban handrail, and it went way better than expected
What is your plan for this summer?
My plan is to work as much as possible, go summer skiing, fish, skate, surf and do other fun stuff
Is there something else you like to say?
just want to say thanks to you (monkiebandanas) for supporting me with warm bandanas all winter , First distribution in Norway for helping me out with helmets, and my family and friends.
And check out my new telemark park blogg. Its super awesome!
Its summertime for most of the Monkie Teamriders. The winterseason is over. It’s time to ask them what they do in summertime.
Emily Arthur is the only teamrider, for who it is wintertime all year around. This last winter she stayed in Breckenridge, Colorado to snowboard and to be coached by Sabrina Ste-Marie. But this little girl lives back home in Australia where the winter just started. Lets ask her some questions..
Most people love the summer because the weather and the beach. You didn’t see a lot of summer this year. How did you experience that?
Well, I didn’t mind not having a summer vacation because snowboarding is what I love, although, even thought I missed out on a fair bit of my summer I went down the coast with my cousins and we had a fun time for Easter and my birthday!
You did home school during your trip in the USA, now you go to a normal school in Australia. What do you like more?
I like both! I like homeschooling because you get to focus more and you don’t have to wear a uniform, but I really enjoy regular school because I am able to be with my friends and I get to play at recess and lunchtime. So they both have their ups and downs.
What do you do when you can’t snowboard during summertime at home?
I do gymnastics and trampolining, but this year I really want to focus on school so I can have more time on snow!
What is your best memory from the winter season?
It would have to be standing on the podium at USASA Nationals for slope style,
What is your plan for this winter in Australia?
This season I’m going to compete in the Australian Junior Series and hopefuly the Australian Rookie Fest.
Is there something else you like to say?
I would love to thank my parents and my sponsors Monkie and Rip Curl for supporting me this winter and giving me the opportunity to do what I love doing most, Snowboarding.
Monkie wishes Emily a great winter season in Australia and good luck with school!
Teamrider John Olav made an edit, from telemark skiing this winter in Hafjell, Norway. Check it out:
Emily Arthur competed this week in the USASA Nationals in Copper Mountain, Colorado. In her age group, 10-11 years old girls, 21 girls competed. Emily got 3rd in Slopestyle! Also, Emily competed in halfpipe. Unluckily, Emily felt both runs, but still she got 12th in halfpipe.
Monkie is proud of her!
Congrats Emily!
Emily Arthur from Australia is the new Monkie Teamrider. She started snowboarding when she was only 7 years old. Now she is 11 and she loves it! Monkie Teamrider John Olav made a new movie, telemark skiing in Norway.
Johnny about his movie: ‘I used 4 days of skiing to make this edit, but it was so hard to get the urban to stick. The edit was shot in Lillehammer, Norway. hope you like it!’
The movie is also posted on norways biggest snow webpage and norways skiinfo page (www.skiinfo.no & www.friflyt.no).
Teamrider John Olac rides telemark skis. He is crazy on his skis in the park, but he wanted more. He did his first handrail session right outside his house in Norway. Johnny about his experience:
‘I have been looking at this rail for many months and finally there was enough snow to hit the rail. The landing behind the rail is really sketchy, so I was a little scared. But it went good. I landed a regular slide and a 270 on to the rail.’
